As Christmas approaches, more and more French people are tempted by the refurbished and second-hand market. Applications and shops thus make it possible to buy second-hand toys.

Thibault, 5, has two passions: giraffes and cars. But if the latter are a little damaged, it is because they have already served well. Indeed, almost all of his toys are second-hand. His mother, Milène Tran, mainly buys second-hand on a site specializing in children’s articles. The prices are thus more advantageous. “We came across a batch of 12 cars for 12 euros, says Milène Tran. Compared to stores, a small car, you will pay two euros or 2.50 euros.”

This application between individuals, Beebs, has seen its activity explode in recent weeks. Toy sales rose 54% this month. For its founder, this is a sign that Santa Claus will be betting a lot on the occasion this year. “The second hand is no longer an alternative to which we turn when in the end we have not found what we wanted in new, Explain Morgan Hilmi, co-founder of Beebs. It is becoming the first choice for more and more parents. “ Another shop, Rejoué, run by an association, offers toys from donations, checked and reconditioned before being put on the shelves.
