Second hand | A second store for Les Petits Frères

Les Petits Frères have opened a second boutique on avenue du Mont-Royal and offer second-hand clothing, accessories, jewelry and decorative items. As soon as you enter the store, you notice that all the clothes are classified by color, which is very ingenious and visually very pleasant.

“We are very Instagrammable ! It’s beautiful and above all it’s very practical,” says David Starck, director of commercial activities for the non-profit organization. “The pieces are unique, and by classifying them by color, there is a unity. You have to dig, but it allows you to find real little treasures,” he says. And it’s for a good cause, because 100% of the store’s profits are donated to the Les Petits Frères Foundation, which, since 1962, has had the mission of countering the isolation of the elderly. “The elders are paired with volunteers, they provide a presence, they talk with them and provide comfort. »

“The boutique on Gilford Street has been an institution for 40 years, but we wanted to be on a more commercial street like Mont-Royal. The store also serves to create a social bond, there are people from the neighborhood who come to chat, we have customers who come every day,” explains David Starck. You can donate clothes, objects, jewelry and books to the store at 1380 Gilford Street every day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. or simply drop them off in the large container in front.

“There is a real craze for second-hand clothing and objects. The entire population is now aware of the fact that we can consume differently and that it is possible to give a second life to clothes, books and jewelry. There are the stories through the objects, their life journey, which are also worth exploring because they evoke memories of a bygone era,” believes David Starck.
