German police announced a second arrest on Saturday at a refugee shelter in Solingen as part of the investigation into a deadly knife attack in the western city the previous day.
A major operation by special forces took place in the evening in this shelter located not far from the scene of the attack. The police did not give any details on the identity of the person arrested or his possible involvement in the events.
Three people were killed and eight injured in the attack on Friday night during the launch of outdoor festivities to mark the 650th anniversary of thee anniversary of Solingen, a town not far from Düsseldorf.
The attacker then fled, triggering a massive police manhunt.
A first person, a 15-year-old teenager, was arrested earlier in the day, suspected of possible links with the perpetrator of the attack.
The Islamic State group (IS) claimed responsibility for the act on Saturday, which shocked Germany.
