Seattle Seahawks, Julian Love agree to three-year deal

(Renton) The Seattle Seahawks and safety Julian Love have agreed to a three-year deal that could be worth up to $36 million.

Love’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed the deal to The Associated Press Wednesday after the Seahawks’ first day of training camp. The contract extension will keep Love in Seattle through the end of the 2027 season.

Love, 26, signed a two-year contract with the Seahawks last year after spending his first three NFL seasons with the New York Giants. He quickly established himself as a cornerstone of the Seahawks’ defense, thanks in part to his ability to play multiple positions.

Love started 12 of the team’s 17 games and set career highs in tackles (85) and interceptions (four) while earning a Pro Bowl nomination. He was named the NF Defensive Player of the Year in the 15e week with nine tackles and two interceptions in a win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Love has consistently been considered one of the players with a chance to thrive in new Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald’s defensive system, in part because of his versatility.
