(Seattle) The Seattle Kraken will be without goaltender Chris Driedger for most of next season after he went under the knife to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the team announced Tuesday.

Driedger was injured while representing Canada in a game against Finland at the World Hockey Championship. He was operated on Monday.
Driedger had a difficult first season with the Kraken due to injuries and his erratic performances. He played 27 games and posted a 2.26 goals-against average with an 89.9% save percentage – the worst of his young career. Driedger agreed to a three-year, $10.5 million deal from Kraken last summer.
Since Driedger will be out for at least seven months, the Kraken only have two healthy goaltenders in their active roster: Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord.
