About thirty people demonstrated in the streets of Espelette at the end of the afternoon on Tuesday August 30. These are seasonal workers recruited for the pepper harvest. Half a dozen producers came to support them because they demanded better accommodation conditions. These seasonal workers lived in caravans on flood-prone land in Ustaritz. The gendarmes therefore dislodged them for security reasons. But for the moment these employees have not found permanent housing and are asking for help to find a solution.
