A 40-year-old man from Rouyn-Noranda from whom several drugs were seized was arrested Thursday morning.
At his residence on rue Amulet in Rouyn-Noranda, the police found nearly 30 grams of illicit cannabis, more than 15,000 tablets of methamphetamine, approximately 250 tablets of ecstasy, 60 grams of cocaine as well as hashish.
He had, as a bonus, nearly $4,000 in Canadian currency, as well as equipment used in the sale of narcotics and an imitation handgun.
The 40-year-old could face various charges under the Cannabis Act as well as the Act governing certain drugs and other substances, the Sûreté du Québec said in a press release.
The police operation, which took place within the framework of the ACCES-Cannabis program, had the mission of “reducing the accessibility of illicit cannabis on the Quebec market, particularly among young people and reducing unfair competition from illegal producers and traffickers the SQDC,” added the police force.
He will have to return to court at a later date.
