At least that’s what the MLB Network reported. In return for Manaea and Aaron Holiday, the A’s get their hands on two prospects in Euribiel Angeles and Adrian Martinez.
Manaea was the most-used gunner for the A’s in 2021. He had a 3.91 ERA and 11-10 record in 32 starts. He was in his sixth major league campaign, all with Oakland.
Angeles plays in the infield and Martinez on the mound. The former had one hit in two at-bats during training camp, while Martinez allowed one hit to the safety spot in one inning. They were the Padres’ 12th and 26th highest-ranked prospects, respectively.
Since the end of last season, the A’s have traded several players from their regular roster. Besides Manaea, Matt Olson (Atlanta Braves), Chris Bassitt (New York Mets) and Matt Chapman (Toronto Blue Jays) also changed addresses.
