Tuesday August 16, the 13 Hours leaves for Scotland, to meet the fans of the kilt. This woolen skirt worn by men little by little gave way to trousers in the streets. But the kilt remains the traditional outfit for weddings.

Shelter from the rain and Scottish winds, in the warmth of a Glasgow restaurant (Scotland)the tradition is displayed well beyond the dishes and the whisky. Here, the waiters wear the kilt very proudly. “We have room to move, we feel more free, and then it makes a good topic of discussion”testifies Jan Iezarrestaurant manager. An outfit that may be surprising in the eyes of tourists, but which absolutely does not surprise the Scots.

In the streets of Glasgow, traditional 500-year-old attire has been replaced by trousers. To find kilts, you have to look in souvenir shops, or those of artisans. On special occasions, the British Royal Family, and Prince Charles in particularwear it regularly during visits to Scotland. The kilt is also essential for traditional wedding ceremonies. “In Scotland, it is said that the kilt is worn in commando mode, that is to say without underwear. That’s what I do”testifies David Porter, future groom.
