During the COP26 in Glasgow (Scotland), 200 countries are expected to make the trip. The objective will be to find a new agreement to reduce CO2 emissions.
The group Extinction Rébellion demonstrated, Saturday, October 30, in the city center of Glasgow (Scotland) and this type of demonstration should multiply in the coming days. As the economic capital of Scotland prepares to become the scene of COP 26 and welcome leaders from around the world, some residents are skeptical about the outcome of the conference: “I have no faith in the elites and I think it will come to nothing”, testifies a Scottish woman.
“I am very proud to see COP26 taking place in Scotland. We are trying to lead the way in wind and electric power.”, confides a resident of Glasgow. For security reasons, the police blocked a large perimeter of the city, disrupting the daily life of the inhabitants, some will not be able to go to work during the two weeks of the COP26. Scottish doctors fear an explosion in Covid-19 cases.
