The Ministry of Education confirms that it is at the request of the Ministry of Health and Social Services and the National Institute of Public Health (INSPQ) that this data will again be collected on a weekly basis. However, it is not known if they will be made public.
It was last January that Quebec first asked schools to provide, twice a week, a report indicating which staff and students had contracted COVID-19 or were isolated due to symptoms similar to those of disease.
At the height of winter, student absences due to COVID-19 numbered in the tens of thousands. At the beginning of February, the absence rate for this reason was close to 5%.
