The drama “Scarborough”, which takes place in the suburbs of Toronto, wins the prize for best film at the Canadian Screen Awards.
The book-to-screen adaptation won three big-name awards on Sunday’s TV night, including Best Cinematography.
Filmmakers Shasha Nakhai and Rich Williamson snagged an award in the directing category, while young star Liam Diaz was named best lead actor.
“Scarborough” won a total of eight trophies during this week-long celebration of film, television and digital media.
Also leading the TV winners is CTV’s “Transplant.”
The medical show won Best Drama Series and honors for its lead actors Hamza Haq and Laurence Leboeuf, for a total of eight awards.
