2020 and its pandemic… This strange period had something beneficial for Benjamin Siksou. It allowed him a certain refocusing, toget to the end of buried thingsboth in the lyrics and in the music.
“Saxophonia” mainly attacks the idea of lacka frustration that the artist comes to fill with his songs.
And then Benjamin Siksou had in mind, for more than 10 years, a brass band! Her absolute fantasy. It is therefore quite natural that the saxophone has taken center stage. A situation reinforced by the fact that the artist has done away with many layers, to prune, to purify to return to something more organic, closer to live.
Listening to the album, we have the impression of being with him in the studio, we hear his breathing, almost his fragility. But with Benjamin Siksou, we no longer really know what emotions are summoned and that’s good the strength of his poetry.
