Saxon Separatists: Insights from an FBI Tip

German authorities, aided by the FBI, conducted significant raids on a right-wing extremist group in Saxony, leading to eight arrests. The group, the ‘Sächsische Separatisten,’ is accused of planning violent actions against minorities and seizing territory. Allegations include discussions of ethnic cleansing and armed uprising. The group’s leader, Jörg S., reportedly compromised himself through online chats. Connections to the AfD party were noted, with calls for expulsions of involved members following the arrests.

FBI’s Crucial Role in Saxony Extremist Raids

In a significant crackdown on a group of young right-wing extremists in Saxony, German security forces received vital intelligence from the FBI. Reports indicate that this operation targeted the suspected right-wing terrorist organization known as the ‘Sächsische Separatisten.’ Investigators have uncovered that the group’s alleged leader may have unintentionally implicated himself through discussions in online chats and face-to-face interactions with trusted associates.

Details of the Raid and Arrests

On Tuesday morning, law enforcement executed searches across multiple locations in Germany, Poland, and Austria, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals. The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has charged them with plotting for a so-called ‘Day X,’ which involved military training and urban combat exercises aimed at preparing for violent confrontations against dissenters and minority groups.

The group has been accused of planning to seize territories in Saxony, establish control with right-wing militias, and execute ethnic cleansing targeting migrants and state representatives. Shocking discussions surrounding a ‘Holocaust’ were also reported, with the group allegedly aiming to initiate a violent uprising on ‘Day X’ with intentions of committing murder or manslaughter.

During the raid, investigators gained alarming insight into the ideology of the ‘Sächsische Separatisten.’ The supposed ringleader, identified as Jörg S., reportedly compromised his own security by sharing incriminating information in racist online forums. An FBI informant was allegedly present in one of these discussions.

Jörg S. and his younger associates may soon face consequences for their online activities, which reportedly included posting images of individuals clad in military attire engaged in various tactical exercises. In conversations with the informant, S. purportedly positioned himself as a tactical trainer, revealing connections to right-wing political factions and suggesting the existence of an armed group prepared for potential state collapse.

Among the arrested individuals, three are linked to the AfD party or its youth wing. The AfD has since announced its intention to expel these members, with the Saxon state association moving forward with immediate expulsions.

In their ongoing investigations, security officials are utilizing not only Telegram chats but also information from an informant embedded within the group. This informant has reportedly relayed statements from Jörg S. regarding the group’s armed training activities in wooded areas. Allegations suggest that the group was also practicing tactical maneuvers in derelict structures.

Jörg S. has been noted for explicitly referencing the ‘Sächsische Separatisten’ and making a disturbing connection to the historical ‘SS,’ Adolf Hitler’s notorious protection squad responsible for heinous crimes during the Nazi era.

In his discussions, S. allegedly expressed goals that included an armed struggle for Saxony’s secession from Germany and the establishment of a new nation-state backed by the Putin regime, alongside aspirations for a race war.

On Tuesday, Jörg S. was apprehended in Poland, along with two of his brothers from Brandis, Saxony. They hail from a family with known ties to the Austrian right-wing, with their father being a prominent extremist in the 1990s. Authorities consider the brothers to be integral members of the ‘Sächsische Separatisten’ core group.

The arrests occurred across various sites in Saxony and included one in Poland. Among the core members are two childhood friends of the brothers, including Karl K., who has been involved in the right-wing movement for over four years and gained notoriety after being assaulted by left-wing extremists at a demonstration in Dresden. He reportedly expressed support for the AfD during questioning by authorities.

As of now, Jörg S. has not publicly addressed the allegations, having recently been in custody in Poland. Like all suspects, he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

His attorney, Martin Kohlmann, also affiliated with the right-wing party ‘Freie Sachsen,’ commented on the situation, stating that the portrayal of a ‘relatively harmless hiking group’ as a terrorist organization is exaggerated. A follow-up inquiry regarding the case was not immediately answered, and other legal representatives for the co-defendants were unavailable for comment.
