Another player fell in action for the Canadian. Defender David Savard will be sidelined for an indefinite period, the Montreal team announced Tuesday morning.
The 33-year-old Quebecer suffers from an upper body injury, the Habs said in a message published on the X platform.
Savard blocked numerous shots, notably with his hand and a skate, in the Canadian’s 3-1 victory against the Sabers in Buffalo on Monday night. The veteran did not meet with members of the media after the game.
As a result, CH urgently recalled defender Gustav Lindström from the Laval Rocket. It is currently unknown whether he will participate in the evening game against the New Jersey Devils.
Canadian head coach Martin St-Louis is scheduled to meet members of the media around 4 p.m. at the Bell Center.
Savard, who is originally from Saint-Hyacinthe, has two assists in five games this season with the Bleu-blanc-rouge. He was selected in the fourth round, 94th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
