Sean Monahan makes the difference for the Jets, who defeat the Hurricanes 5-3

Sean Monahan broke a tie with 3:13 remaining in the third period and the Winnipeg Jets erased a three-goal deficit to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3 on Saturday.

It was his seventh goal in 11 games with the Jets and a 20e since the start of the campaign.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 pucks in front of the visitors’ net.

Sebastian Aho, Martin Necas and Teuvo Teravainen gave the Hurricanes a three-goal lead. Andrei Svechnikov had two assists and Kochetkov made 27 saves.
