The Panthers defeat the Sabers 4-3

Matthew Tkachuk scored and assisted in Brandon Montour’s game-winning goal on Saturday, helping the Florida Panthers win 4-3 over the Buffalo Sabres.

Aaron Ekblad and Colin White were the other scorers for the Panthers, who won their first two games.

Last season, the club were unbeaten after eight games.

Spencer Knight stopped 24 shots, bringing his career record against the Sabers to 4-0.

Rasmus Dahlin, Alex Tuch and Zemgus Girgensons outsmarted him.

Eric Comrie made 33 saves. He got an assist on Tuch’s net.

The Sabers only shot five times in the third period, in addition to being shut out in four power plays.

Florida will wrap up a three-game trip to Boston on Monday.

The first game at Sunrise is Wednesday against the Flyers.

The Sabers begin a four-game road trip Tuesday in Edmonton.
