Mitch Marner picks up a point in a 19e straight game
Mitch Marner broke the record for the longest point streak in Maple Leafs history with two goals, but the Toronto squad went down 4-3 in overtime against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday .
Marner hit the target both shorthanded and advantaged.
Marner opened the scoring after accepting a pass from behind the net from David Kampf at 5:18 of the second period. The right-winger broke the Maple Leafs mark set by Darryl Sittler in 1977-78 and tied by Eddie Olczyk in 1989-90. The NHL record is 51 games and was set by Wayne Gretzky (1983-1984).
Alex Killorn played heroes in overtime. He scored from the right circle, 33 seconds after the face-off.

Claude Giroux collects three points and the Senators beat the Sharks 5-2
Claude Giroux had two goals and an assist as he guided the Ottawa Senators to a 5-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Saturday.

Tomas Hertl scored a brace for the Sharks. Kaapo Kahkonen made 34 saves.
The Senators won their second game in as many nights. They won an intense 3-2 overtime game against the New York Rangers on Friday. The Sharks hadn’t played since Wednesday, but the rest didn’t seem to do them any good.
The Senators scored their third power-play goal of the game at 5:18 of the third period. Mathieu Joseph set the table for Chabot, who made it 4-2 in favor of the home team.
The Senators’ last goal was the result of a peculiar streak. The Sharks screwed up a four-on-three power play, including a moment when Senators defenseman Travis Hamonic was out of stick. As the power play ended, Giroux was able to escape and beat Kahkonen with a slap shot.
