Leon Draisaitl marks his 30the goal and the Oilers win 2-1 against the Kraken

Leon Draisaitl scored his 30e goal on the 73e pass from Connor McDavid, Brett Kulak scored early in the third period and the Edmonton Oilers defeated the Seattle Kraken 2-1 on Saturday.

Stuart Skinner stopped 24 shots and the Oilers won their third straight game. They have won their last six games against the Kraken.

Draisaitl found the back of the net midway through the second period and Kulak scored the game-winning goal at 8:02 of the next period.

Kulak scored following a good save from Skinner. The goaltender has won seven of his nine starts against the Kraken and his four games against this team this season.

Eeli Tolvanen found the back of the net for the Kraken on the power play with 6:37 left in regulation. It was his 15e goal of the campaign.

Draisaitl took a penalty with 53 seconds left to allow the Kraken to play six against four, while Philipp Grubauer returned to the bench in favor of an additional player.

Skinner, however, saved the day with big saves in the final seconds of the game.

Grubauer stopped 24 shots.

Sean Monahan makes the difference for the Jets, who defeat the Hurricanes 5-3

Sean Monahan broke a tie with 3:13 remaining in the third period and the Winnipeg Jets erased a three-goal deficit to defeat the Carolina Hurricanes 5-3 on Saturday.

The former Montreal Canadiens forward took advantage of a hazardous exit from Pyotr Kochetkov, who was trying to clear the puck. Monahan took the puck and shot into an empty net.

It was his seventh goal in 11 games with the Jets and a 20e since the start of the campaign.

Nino Niederreiter scored twice in the victory, hitting the target in an empty cage. Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele also scored for the Jets, who have won five of their last six games.

Connor Hellebuyck stopped 32 pucks in front of the visitors’ net.

Sebastian Aho, Martin Necas and Teuvo Teravainen gave the Hurricanes a three-goal lead. Andrei Svechnikov had two assists and Kochetkov made 27 saves.

Panthers blank Red Wings 4-0

Sergei Bobrovsky signed his 42e career shutout, Sam Reinhart scored his 42e net of the season and the Florida Panthers beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-0 on Saturday.

Bobrovsky blocked 21 shots and posted his fourth shutout of the season, as well as his fifth career against the Red Wings. The goaltender also blanked the Red Wings on November 2.

Bobrovsky has won nine of his last 10 starts. The Panthers have won 11 of the last 12 meetings against the Red Wings.

Reinhart has three goals in his last two games, setting a Panthers all-time high with 24 power play goals.

Brandon Montour scored and added two assists, Evan Rodrigues had a goal and an assist and Carter Verhaeghe scored on the power play.

The Panthers, who are 28-0-3 when leading after 40 minutes, lead the league in road wins with 21.

Alex Lyon stopped 32 shots for the Red Wings, who were shut out for the third time this campaign.

Patrick Kane’s streak of games with at least one point ended at 10.

The Blues beat the Wild 3-1 and return to winning ways

The St. Louis Blues beat the Minnesota Wild 3-1 on Saturday to end a three-game losing streak.

Jake Neighbors, Alexey Toropchenko and Torey Krug scored in the victory. Jordan Binnington stopped 21 shots.

Jon Merrill scored for the Wild and Marc-André Fleury blocked 24 shots. The Wild lost a third straight game.

Krug completed the scoring with 49 seconds left in an empty net, scoring his third goal of the season.

Neighbors scored its 20e net of the campaign by taking the return of Robert Thomas’ shot, with 7:07 to play in the middle period.

Toropchenko opened the scoring at 6:34 in the first period, deflecting Scott Perunoivch’s point shot.

Merrill tied the game midway through the second period, after intercepting Nick Leddy’s clearing attempt.

An eighth straight win for Nashville; a hat trick for Cody Glass

Cody Glass scored a hat trick and the Nashville Predators won their eighth straight game on Saturday, 5-1 at the expense of the Colorado Avalanche.

Tommy Novak and Ryan O’Reilly also scored for the Predators, who will host the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night.

Ryan McDonagh had two assists and Juuse Saros made 25 saves, beaten only by Nathan MacKinnon.

Alexandar Georgiev blocked 31 shots for Colorado, which had won two games in a row.

Glass started the game with two goals this season.

The Avalanche will begin a three-game homestand Monday night.

Tyson Foerster scores twice in Flyers’ 4-2 win over Senators

Tyson Foerster scored two goals within 45 seconds of each other, Felix Sandstrom stopped 24 shots in his debut this season and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Ottawa Senators 4-2 on Saturday.

Foerster made it 2-1 with 47 seconds left in the second period, using a shot that beat goaltender Mads Sogaard over the glove.

Foerster then scored on a penalty shot with two seconds remaining in the period.

Vladimir Tarasenko and Thomas Chabot scored for the Senators, who lost a fourth straight game.

The Flyers beat the Senators for the first time this season, having lost the last four meetings and six of the last seven meetings.

Joel Farabee opened the scoring for the Flyers by redirecting Nick Seeler’s point shot past Sogaard. Cam York finished it off in an empty net with one second remaining in regulation.

Dylan Cozens shines in Sabers’ 7-2 win over Knights

Dylan Cozens scored twice shorthanded on Saturday, helping the Buffalo Sabers win 7-2 against the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Sabers led 3-2 after 40 minutes, before completely dominating the third period.

They cruised to a fifth win in six games.

Zemgus Girgensons, Jeff Skinner, Casey Mittelstadt, Owen Power and Kyle Okposo were the other scorers for the Sabres.

Author of 22 saves, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was beaten by Brendan Brisson and William Karlsson.

Logan Thompson blocked 28 shots for Vegas, which is 2-6-1 through nine games.

The Sabers will host the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday night.

A hat trick in 1er period for Palmieri, in an Islanders victory

Kyle Palmieri scored a hat trick in the first period on Saturday, propelling the New York Islanders to a 5-1 victory over the Boston Bruins.

It was a third career hat-trick for Palmieri, a Long Island native. He pulled that one off in less than nine minutes.

The second goal was scored on a power play.

Palmieri also took part in Anders Lee’s goal in the first minute of the second period.

Brock Nelson was the other scorer for the Islanders, who won their last three games.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Bo Horvat each had two assists, while Ilya Sorokin made 24 saves.

The Bruins’ response came from Marc McLaughlin, while Linus Ullmark blocked 22 shots.

Boston is 1-1-3 through five games.

The Bruins will face the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Monday night.

Max Domi scores shootout winner in Leafs 4-3 win

Max Domi scored the game-winning goal in a shootout and the Toronto Maple Leafs beat the New York Rangers 4-3 on Saturday night.

John Tavares, Mitch Marner and William Nylander scored in regulation for the Maple Leafs, who have won nine of their last 10 games. Ilya Samsonov stopped 32 shots.

Vincent Trocheck hit the target twice and Quebecer Alexis Lafrenière scored and added two assists for the Rangers, beaten for the second time in 13 games.

Artemi Panarin had two assists and Igor Shesterkin blocked 31 shots.

After goals from Mika Zibanejad and Marner in the shootout, Domi put the Leafs in a position to win in the fourth round. Trocheck had to score to prolong the debate, but his shot hit the post.

Lafrenière scored his 18e goal of the campaign, a fourth in five games.

Texier sets tone in Blue Jackets’ 5-2 win over Blackhawks

Alexandre Texier scored in the first minute of the game, Zach Werenski had two assists and the Columbus Blue Jackets beat the Chicago Blackhawks 5-2 on Saturday.

Boone Jenner, Mathieu Olivier, Cole Sillinger and Johnny Gaudreau scored the other goals for the Blue Jackets.

Elvis Merzlikins stopped 26 shots, as did Arvid Soderblom.

Philipp Kurashev and Ryan Donato responded for the Hawks, who are 0-4-2 in their last six games.

Texier opened the scoring after 33 seconds, taking advantage of a blunder by defender Seth Jones in his territory.

Jenner made it 2-0 later in the first period.

Kurashev scored with 2:28 left in the period to close the gap.

Werenski made it 3-1 early in the second period and Sillinger added another goal for his team midway through the period.

Soderblom lost a 14e match in a row.

Benn shootout winner as Stars beat Sharks 3-2

Jamie Benn scored the game-winning goal in the seventh round of the shootout and the Dallas Stars defeated the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Saturday night.

Jason Robertson and Radek Faksa scored in regulation, while Matt Duchene also found the back of the net in the shootout. The Stars are 6-0-2 in their last eight home games.

Jake Oettinger stopped 21 shots and six more in the shootout.

Filip Zadina and William Eklund scored for the Sharks, while Anthony Duclair beat Oettinger in the penalty shootout. Luke Kunin had two assists.

The Sharks have lost their last six games.

In his second career start and his first game played from start to finish, Magnus Chrona stopped 36 shots, in addition to five in the shootout.

Robertson tied the game 2-2 at 4:08 of the third period, just three seconds after the start of a power play. Benn won the faceoff and the puck went to defenseman Miro Heiskanen, who passed it to Robertson.

Eklund opened the scoring at 4:39 of the game in the first period.
