Marc-André Fleury joined Patrick Roy for second place in National Hockey League history with 551e victory by virtue of a 4-3 overtime win by the Minnesota Wild against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Fleury is only ahead of Martin Brodeur, who has 691 career victories. He blocked 25 shots, including one that would have sealed a victory for the Blue Jackets late in the third period.
As he returned to the bench thanks to an extra skater, Fleury made a diving save with less than two minutes remaining in the game.
Marcus Johansson then tied the game and Marco Rossi scored in overtime.
“I was just happy to win tonight,” Fleury said. It hasn’t worked for a while (Editor’s note: a streak of four defeats). We’re missing a few guys. We obviously need points in the standings.
“It’s an honor to catch up with Patrick, a guy I’ve admired since I was a kid. In the moment, I was just happy to get the win here for the guys. »
Matt Boldy scored two goals for the Wild, who had lost their last four games. Brock Faber had two assists.

Star player Travis Konecny broke a shorthanded tie and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Calgary Flames 3-2 on Saturday, ending a four-game losing streak.
Konecny converted a breakaway in the third minute of the third period.
He leads the National League with five penalty kill goals this season.
Morgan Frost scored and took part in the 10e net by Sean Couturier, while Carter Hart stopped 22 shots.
Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar fought back for the Flames, who had won their last three games.
Jacob Markstrom made 39 saves for the Flames, who blew leads of 1-0 and 2-1.

Sam Reinhart scored his seventh career hat trick and the Florida Panthers defeated the Colorado Avalanche 8-4 on Saturday for their seventh straight victory.
Reinhart has now hit the target 10 times during this winning streak, scoring at least two goals three times. Sergei Bobrovsky made 23 saves and signed a sixth victory in a row.
Aleksander Barkov collected four assists in his 700e career game in the National Hockey League. Carter Verhaeghe had two goals and an assist, while Matthew Tkachuk scored once and assisted on two goals.
Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Kevin Stenlund were the other scorers in the victory.
The Panthers blew leads of 3-0 and 4-3 before winning. Former Montreal Canadiens Jonathan Drouin notably created the tie at 3:31 of the third period.
Ross Colton then received a double minor penalty for a high stick, then Logan O’Connor sent the puck into the crowd from his own zone to allow the Panthers to evolve at five on three. Reinhart took the opportunity to score the winning net.
Cale Makar, Josh Manson and Valeri Nichushkin also lit the red light for the Avalanche, who had won their last four games and had at least one point in their last seven.

Zemgus Girgensons scored on a loose puck near Tristan Jarry late in the third period to give the Buffalo Sabres the lead, who defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-1 on Saturday.
The Penguins tied the game earlier in the third when Rickard Rakell scored his fourth goal of the campaign on a power play.
The Sabers responded when Girgensons drove to the Penguins net before putting a backhand shot with 4:38 to play. Rasmus Dahlin added the insurance goal in an empty cage.
Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen made 41 saves for the Sabres. Alex Tuch also scored for the Sabres, who recorded their third victory in four games.
Jarry stopped 29 pucks for the Penguins, who saw two goals canceled in the first period.
A Drew O’Connor net was ruled out on video review for offside, then officials ruled Jake Guentzel was obstructing Luukkonen when he deflected a shot a few minutes moments later.

Toronto won its third straight game, while San Jose lost for the 11the times in a row.

They had the last word 3-0 in Los Angeles and 2-1 in Anaheim.
Tyler Bertuzzi had two assists and Martin Jones made 23 saves, losing only to Mikael Granlund.
This is the Sharks’ second series of 11 losses this season.
They did not enjoy a victory until their 12e campaign match.
The two clubs will face each other again Tuesday evening in Toronto.

Filip Forsberg scored twice early in the third period and the Nashville Predators defeated the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Saturday.
Gustav Nyquist scored once and added an assist for the Predators, who haven’t lost in regulation in their last six road games (5-0-1).
Luke Evangelista also found the back of the net to help his team get within four points of the Stars, in third place in the Central section. Kevin Lankinen stopped 26 pucks.
Jason Robertson had two points, including a goal for the Stars, who finished a five-game home stretch with a 2-2-1 record. Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn were the other scorers, while Scott Wedgewood stopped 18 pucks.
The Predators got their revenge after losing 3-2 to the Stars on December 23. The latter then scored the equalizing and winning goals in the last 15 seconds of the third period, a first in the history of the National Hockey League.
