David Pastrnak scored his second goal of the season on a penalty shot and added another empty-net goal, and the Boston Bruis beat the Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Saturday.
Pavel Zacha and Charlie McAvoy also scored to win. Goaltender Jeremy Swayman stopped 22 pucks for the Bruins, who improved to 7-0-1.
Joe Veleno scored for the Red Wings, with a powerful shot that beat Swayman over the left shoulder, down the middle of the left shoulder.
VIlle Husso made 27 saves for the Red Wings, who lost a third straight game.

Frank Vatrano hat trick in Ducks victory
Frank Vatrano scored the fifth hat trick of his career and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Philadelphia Flyers 7-4 on Saturday.
Adam Henrique, Ryan Strome, Trevor Zegras and Brett Leason all added a goal for the Ducks.
Lukas Dostal made 27 saves for the Anaheim squad, which is 3-0 on its four-game trip east.
Travis Konecny scored two goals to increase his total to eight this season. Cam Atkinson and Joel Farabee also hit the mark for the Flyers.
Goaltender Sam Ersson suffered the loss after allowing seven goals on 23 shots.
Vatrano scored eight goals in his first eight games in a Ducks uniform. It was already his second hat trick this season, after the one recorded on October 15.

Matthew Tkachuk scores his first goal of the season
Matthew Tkachuk ended the longest drought of his career to start a season and the Florida Panthers beat the Seattle Kraken 3-2 on Saturday night.
Tkachuk, coming back from a 40-goal campaign, had to wait until game seven to finally hit the target this season. He had never needed more than four games in any of his previous seven NHL seasons.
Nick Cousins broke the tie with 5:52 left in the third period. Gustav Forsling also scored for the Panthers.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 30 pucks for the Florida squad, who have now won 13 games in which they trail by at least two goals since the start of the 2021-22 season.
Jared McCann and Eeli Tolvanen responded for the Kraken. Joey Daccord made 35 saves in the loss.

Varlamov gets shutout against Islanders
Semyon Varlamov stopped 35 shots to get his 39e career shutout, and the New York Islanders won 2-0 against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.
Kyle Palmieri and Matt Martin scored the Islanders’ goals.
Spencer Martin blocked 31 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have lost their last three games and their last two at home.
Palmieri recovered Pierre Engvall’s shot to score on the return, with 4:15 left in the first period. He thus extended his streak of matches with at least one point to three.
Martin scored his first goal of the campaign with 3:21 remaining in the game, once again on a rebound, this time from Casey Cizikas.
The Islanders won all three games they led after the first period.

Tkachuk scores two goals and the Senators win
Brady Tkachuk scored two goals, Joonas Korpisalo blocked 39 shots and the Ottawa Senators defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-2 on Saturday night to end a three-game losing streak.
Ridly Greig, Dominik Kubalik and Drake Batherson also found the back of the net for the visitors. Claude Giroux had two assists.
Sidney Crosby scored in a second straight game for the Penguins and Jake Guentzel scored his second goal of the campaign in the final moments of the game.
Tristan Jarry, who had a 30-save shutout in his last game against the Colorado Avalanche, blocked only six of the nine shots he faced Saturday and was removed from the game in the second period.
Tkachuk and Batherson scored 16 seconds apart in the third period to give the Senators a comfortable lead.

Josi scores in overtime for Predators
Roman Josi scored midway through overtime and the Nashville Predators beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Saturday night.
Ryan O’Reilly scored two power play goals and Juuse Saros blocked 33 shots. The Predators have won three of their last four games.
William Nylander and Mark Giordano scored for the Maple Leafs, while Ilya Samsonov stopped 21 pucks.
Nylander scored the first goal of the game with 6:38 left in the first period.
O’Reilly responded with a power play goal at 4:55 of the period.
The Maple Leafs regained the lead in the second period, when Giordano scored his first of the campaign.

Rangers win 4-3 in overtime against Canucks
K’Andre Miller scored his first goal of the campaign in overtime, and the New York Rangers beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 on Saturday.
Miller received a pass from Chris Kreider and beat goaltender Casey DeSmith at 3:48 of the overtime period.
Carson Soucy tied the game for the Canucks with a powerful shot from the point 15:42 into the third period.
JT Miller on the power play, and Tyler Myers on the penalty kill, also scored for the Canucks.
Defenseman Filip Hronek had two assists.
The Rangers scored three of their goals on the power play, including two in the third period.
DeSmith stopped 20 shots for his team, while Igor Shesterkin blocked 30 pucks for the Rangers.
