The Avalanche defeat the Blues 4-1

Bowen Byram scored twice, Mikko Rantanen added his 200e career NHL goal and helped the Colorado Avalanche beat the St. Louis Blues 4-1 on Saturday.

Valeri Nichushkin also hit the target for the Avalanche. Justus Annunen stopped 19 shots in his first outing with the Avalanche this season.

Samuel Blais was the only scorer for the Blues. Jordan Binnington stopped 29 shots.

The Blues saw their winning streak cut to three less than 24 hours after trading forwards Ryan O’Reilly and Noel Acciari to the Toronto Maple Leafs.

It’s the first time in his career that Byram has scored two goals in one match.

Star defenseman Cale Makar was back in the Avalanche roster after missing four games with a concussion.
