(Saskatoon) The founder of online group ‘Diagolon’ remains in custody following a bail hearing in Saskatchewan.

Jeremy MacKenzie was arrested September 29 in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with charges laid last July in Saskatchewan by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
The man is charged with assault, pointing a weapon at an individual, mischief and careless handling of a restricted weapon. This all stems from a report to police following an alleged assault that allegedly occurred near Viscount, Saskatchewan in November 2021.
A publication ban prevents the disclosure of more details disclosed during the hearing which took place last Friday in the Provincial Court in Saskatoon.
Jeremy MacKenzie also faces 13 firearms charges laid in January in Nova Scotia as well as harassment and intimidation charges laid in March following an anti-mask protest outside the doctor’s residence. Nova Scotia’s Chief Health Officer.
The leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, Pierre Poilievre, also asked the RCMP to investigate degrading comments made by MacKenzie towards his wife Anaida in a live online video last month.
The Diagolon group is related to the “Convoi de la liberté”, as well as to other movements opposed to the health measures put in place to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
