SAQ union members vote for a 15-day strike mandate

Employees of the Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) voted 89% in favor of a 15-day strike mandate, which could be called at any time deemed appropriate.

“The management of the SAQ must take note of the dissatisfaction of its employees with this drawn-out negotiation,” said the president of the union, Lisa Courtemanche, in a press release.

The main points in dispute are the creation of permanent positions and working hours, the union said.

The collective agreement expired on March 31, 2023.

The union, which is attached to the Federation of Public Service Employees, affiliated with the CSN, has 5,500 members.

More details will follow.
