Sandrine Rousseau denounces the “incompetence” of the Minister for Ecological Transition and the “denial” of the majority

The deputy EELV Sandrine Rousseau denounces this Wednesday on France Inter “incompetence” of the Minister of Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu who, according to her, “did not understand the ecological question at all”. “He is a minister who answers off the mark every time he is asked a question”she says, calling it a “rabbit caught in the headlights of a car”.

“He’s there, he’s watching, he doesn’t know what to do”deplores Sandrine Rousseau, questioning the interest of “forest weather” proposed by the Minister to fight against the fires which are repeated in France, while the drought intensifies. She believes that the additional 300,000 euros he promised to improve fire prevention are largely insufficient.

Sandrine Rousseau denounces more generally the “climate denial” of the entire majority. “We see that the situation is slipping away from us and what do we put in the purchasing power law? We are putting an LNG terminal and the possibility of re-operating coal plants!”she regrets.

The Green MP believes that “nothing is done” for ecology, lamenting that “not a euro” no more is allocated to the development of public transport, to make it more attractive and economical. “The government is lying about the ecological transition”, believes Sandrine Rousseau. According to her, “it’s dramatic” and “ecocidal, what we are doing”.

“We are worsening the already tense situation in which we are in an uncontrolled and uncontrollable way. We can no longer imagine that the summer we are experiencing is exceptional or we are climate-skeptical.

“Scientists have been warning us for years about the seriousness of the situation, we are there, we have to change”, launches the chosen one. She calls for measures “radical and strong” instead of “anecdotal measures of the government” as “turn down the air conditioning and close the doors” air-conditioned shops. “Yes, we have to do it, but that’s not what will save us”she concludes.
