April 8, 1998. A date that cinema fans and Luc Besson have never forgotten. And certainly not Samy Naceri either. Indeed, this day, viewers discover the actor now 61 years old, Marion Cotillard, or even Frédéric Diefenthal in “Taxi”. A saga that will be entitled to several sequels over the years. In the skin of Daniel Morales, Samy Naceri juggles his job as a driver at the wheel of his white Peugeot 406, the police investigations carried out by his friend Émilien (played by Frédéric Diefenthal: editor’s note), and his life as a couple with Lilly (Marion Cotillard: editor’s note).
At the time, more than 6.5 million French people discovered Luc Besson’s comedy on the big screen. If fans were treated to four versions, as well as a fifth directed by Franck Gastambide, many of them are hoping for a sixth opus with the return of the legendary duo formed by Samy Naceri and Marion Cotillard.

Samy Naceri, leaving for a sequel to “Taxi”
Invited this Monday, June 12 on the set of “Click”, the 61-year-old actor was questioned on the subject by Mouloud Achour. Aware that without this saga, he might not have the success and notoriety he enjoys today, Athena’s companion does not hide his attachment to these films. He also found director Gérard Krawczyck when he came to Cannes.
The opportunity to discuss a possible sequel: “I met Gérard Krawczyck in Cannes, […] He said to me: ‘Samy we have to do a six. I said, ‘Come on! Let’s go. He said to me: ‘I’m going to talk to the big guy, the boss is Luc (note Besson, producer of the saga)'”. On the other hand, not sure that Marion Cotillard is part of the project. Indeed, Samy Naceri is aware that his ex-colleague has become a planetary star in the meantime. In fact, a new collaboration remains difficult to envisage.
“Marion, I don’t know. Maybe she will come but she is on another planet today”, he admitted. But as long as the supposed ex of Guillaume Canet does not close the doors, hope is still there!
