Ten years ago, on March 19, 2012, Mohammed Merah shot dead the son and two grandsons of Samuel Sandler. He will never forget.

Samuel Sandler liked to immortalize the simple moments of his life with his son and his two grandchildren. The happiness of this family has been shattered, torn away by terrorist barbarism. On March 19, 2012, the Jewish school in Toulouse was the target of an attack. Mohammed Merah shoots Samuel Sandler’s son, Jonathan, and his two grandsons, Arié and Gabriel, as well as the school principal’s daughter.

Ten years later, time has not done its work. “The grief and the pain are the same, maybe even worse over time, because the lack becomes more and more pressing”, explains Samuel Sandler. Myriam Sandler, his companion, testifies to his great suffering “not to see his son and grandsons grow up, to go to their graves”. This horror echoes the history of the Sandler family. “I always had the idea that we would never kill children of the Jewish faith again, now it’s done”, laments Samuel Sandler, inconsolable. Even today, he refuses to mention the name of the assassin.
