Sam Altman rejoins OpenAI board of directors

The OpenAI co-founder was fired and rehired in the space of a few days last November.

Sam Altman, co-founder of OpenAI, has returned to the company’s board of directors, more than four months after being fired and rehired in the space of a few days, the company announced Friday March 8. “We unanimously concluded that Sam (Altmann) and Greg (Brockman) were good leaders for OpenAI”said Bret Taylor, chairman of the board of directors of OpenAI, in a press release.

OpenAI, which created the leading generative artificial intelligence program ChatGPT, also announced the arrival of three new members: Sue Desmond-Hellmann, former CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Nicole Seligman, a former president of Sony and Fidji Simo, the head of Instacart.
