(Salaberry-De-Salaberry-de-Valleyfield) A sixty-year-old woman lost her life Thursday evening after being hit by a motorist as she crossed the road, in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, in Montérégie.
The collision occurred around 7 p.m. on Monseigneur-Langlois Boulevard, which is Route 201, near Joron Street.
The vehicle was traveling south on the boulevard when it struck the pedestrian, according to initial information from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
“The driver had no signs in front of him,” said SQ spokesperson Sergeant Catherine Bernard.
The victim was transported to a hospital where his life was feared. His death was confirmed later in the evening by the SQ.
A police officer specializing in collision investigation attended the scene to analyze the scene.
