The girl fell into the waters of the river on May 12, while standing under the Rolland Street bridge with three other people. The incident happened in the early afternoon. She would have slipped off the rocky surface before falling into the strong current of the stream.
Police were dispatched to the scene to find the teenager. Some were patrolling the banks near the area where she disappeared, other police were in watercraft.
A helicopter and divers from the SQ also participated in the search. A drone was also used.
The family has been notified that the search is suspended.
The flow and water level of the North River will be reassessed daily, the SQ said. If the conditions are favourable, the search may resume on an ad hoc basis.
