(St. Petersburg) Croatian Marin Cilic won the ATP 250 tournament in St. Petersburg for the second time in his career on Sunday, beating American Taylor Fritz 7-6 (7/3), 4-6, 6-4 , 10 years after his first title.
Cilic, 35e at the ATP before the tournament, add a 20e title to his record, whose major feat of arms remains his victory at the United States Open in 2014.
The 33-year-old defeated Fritz (N.28) after a 2:23 fight, concluding an edition in which the two favorites, Russian Andrey Rublev and Canadian Denis Shapovalov, were taken out in the quarterfinals.
