This weekend, the Duguay-Trouin basin in Saint-Malo is hosting the first edition of the dory festival. The goal: to perpetuate the history of these small boats in wood, traditionally used for cod fishing. The Doris Emeraude Rance association (ADEM) and the Saint-Malo fishing company are behind the event.
Two days of festivities
The festivities began this Saturday with a race. 4 boats of 3 rowers were on the starting line. The Saint-Malo Fishing Company donated 50€, for each registered crewfor the benefit of the National Society of Lifeguards at Sea.
This Sunday, young and old are invited to set sail aboard the dories. ADEM offers baptisms and sharing times to discover the history of these small boats. Meet from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Duguay-Trouin basin, on the Saint-Malo quay.
