A septuagenarian lost his life on Saturday evening in a campsite located on rang Charlotte in Saint-Liboire, in Montérégie, after drowning in a lake.
The man was found unresponsive in the water by relatives around 8 p.m., said Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesman Stéphane Tremblay.
Resuscitation maneuvers were carried out, but the death of the victim was unfortunately confirmed at the hospital.
According to initial findings, the septuagenarian would have fallen on a sloping ground before falling into the water.
An investigation was underway at the end of the evening in an attempt to determine the causes and circumstances of the event.
