Saint-Leonard | A man between life and death after snatching a lamppost

A 26-year-old man is between life and death after hitting a lamppost in the borough of Saint-Léonard, in Montreal.

The accident occurred around 5:20 a.m. Sunday morning, at the corner of boulevard Robert and rue Viau.

For reasons still unknown, the driver, a 26-year-old man who was alone in his vehicle, allegedly left his lane before hitting a lamppost.

Montreal police say there are fears for the man’s life after he was taken to hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Investigators will go to the scene to try to understand the circumstances that led to this accident.
