Saint-Leonard | A business burned down twice in 24 hours

(Montreal) A fire of an arson nature broke out in a commercial establishment in the borough of Saint-Léonard on Thursday morning. It is the second time in 24 hours that the place has been targeted, while multiple arson attacks have occurred in the metropolis in recent months.




Police officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) intervened at the Ciociaro Sports Bar & Grill around 4 a.m. for a possible arson attack. Firefighters had already brought the blaze under control when they arrived.

This is the second time in 24 hours that the establishment located near Langelier and Lavoisier boulevards has been targeted. “We are talking about minor damage and no injuries have been reported,” said Constable Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the police force.

Several suspects were seen setting fire to the building before fleeing. An incendiary object was also found on the scene.

There are no arrests in this case.
