Saint-Jérôme: a truck driver seriously injured in a collision

A driver of a truck who found himself trapped in his vehicle after a collision with a vehicle Thursday evening, in Saint-Jérôme, is still in critical condition in hospital.

The truck was traveling on Highway 15 northbound when, around 9:20 p.m., it struck a vehicle ahead of it, before tipping on its side at Highway 158.

The victim in his twenties, originally from Sainte-Adèle, was transported to a hospital for serious injuries that would put his life in danger.

The motorist aged in his fifties who was alone on board was not injured, according to the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Hélène St-Pierre.

An investigator and a reconstructionist from the SQ were dispatched to the scene during the night to try to find out a little more about this accident which is still under investigation.

The northbound A-15 is still closed at the height of the R-158 for the heavy truck towing operation, the Quebec Ministry of Transport said on Twitter.
