A woman was seriously injured after a collision between her van and a school bus in Saint-Jean-de-Matha, in Lanaudière, on Tuesday morning.
The accident occurred around 9:45 a.m., near the intersection of Route 131 and Avenue des Pins.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the van was traveling in a southerly direction when she lost control of her vehicle. The van then rammed the oncoming school bus.

The bus was empty at the time of the collision, said the Sûreté du Québec.
The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries that put her life in danger.
For his part, the driver of the bus was not injured, but is in a state of shock.
Police went to the scene to analyze the scene and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Traffic on Route 131 is now alternating.
