Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne | Eleven candidates to succeed Dominique Anglade

(Montreal) Eleven candidates have officially registered for the by-election in the Montreal riding of Saint-Henri–Sainte-Anne, which will take place on March 13, Élections Québec reported.

The period for submitting nomination papers ended Saturday at 2 p.m.

There are therefore three candidates more than in the general election of 2022.

The four parties represented in the National Assembly will be present on the ballot papers. Candidates from six other parties, including the Conservative Party of Quebec, the Green Party and Climat-Québec, will try to cause surprise. An independent candidate is also in the running.

These candidates will try to succeed Dominique Anglade. The former Liberal leader had won the constituency in September 2022 by obtaining 36.2% of the vote. She was then ahead of the solidarity Guillaume Cliche-Rivard, who is running again, by 2736 votes.

The constituency, which has 57,325 voters, has always elected a Liberal MP since its creation in 1994.
