Saint-Henri | Man stabbed in bar

(Montreal) A man was injured by stabbing early Wednesday night in a bar in the Saint-Henri district, in southwestern Montreal.

The Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) reported that the man in his thirties was conscious during his transport to the hospital and that his condition was now considered stable.

Police have been informed that the victim and a suspect, also in his thirties, had an altercation around 1:15 a.m. at the establishment located on rue Saint-Jacques, near the intersection of rue Saint -Ferdinand, close to the Place-Saint-Henri metro station.

When the first officers arrived, the suspect had already fled on foot, to an unknown destination.

A security perimeter has been established and a section of rue Saint-Jacques has been closed to traffic. Police investigators will examine the crime scene.
