Saint-Eloi: A drunken woman shoots her husband in the head!

What really happened in Saint-Eloi in Ain, near Lyon, this Sunday, July 10, 2022? During the evening, around 9 p.m., a shot rang out. A woman shot her husband, in his 60s, in the head in their home. He was taken to hospital in serious condition.

According to the first elements of the investigation into this news item reported by Progress, an argument would have taken place between the couple. The woman would then have gone to look for a handgun which belonged to her husband and would have fired. The bullet found itself lodged in the victim’s head, near the temple. He immediately collapsed. After hearing the explosion, the son of the family immediately called the emergency services. The shooter called the gendarmes after her gesture. Hospitalized in Lyon in the Edouard Herriot establishment, the days of the victim are no longer in danger. However, the ammunition is still located in the human’s skull, as it is very difficult to remove.

The shooter was arrested and placed in police custody for “attempted murder” and an investigation was opened. However, she was unable to answer questions from law enforcement due to her high blood alcohol level.

According to an article by Slate who looked at people who survived a shot in the head, a bullet wound has a 50% chance of getting out, the victims do not necessarily die because of the bullet, but also because of blood loss. However, if the individual makes it out alive, the operation to extract the bullet can be very complicated because it can move in the cranial box.

In Le Figaro Health, an astonishing story had been told of a man who had had a bullet in his head for most of his life. During a brain scan, doctors discovered that their patient, an octogenarian from Russia, had been shot in the head when he was 3 years old when his brother played with a gun. At the time, his father had taken him to the hospital but the child had regained consciousness. He had therefore remained with a bullet in the head for… eighty-two years!
