(Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures) Shots were fired at a residence in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, in the Quebec City metropolitan area, on the night of Thursday to Friday. No one was injured, but the police have opened an investigation.
At around 12:32 a.m., two witnesses contacted the 911 center to report that they had heard explosions that sounded like gunshots on rue de l’Hêtrière, near rue Lionel-Groulx.
When they arrived on the scene, officers from the Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) located projectile impacts on a residence, but did not find anyone who had been injured.
“Various steps were taken by the patrol officers to locate potential suspects. The dog handler was also called upon to identify evidence,” the SPVQ said in a press release summarizing the facts.
A security perimeter has been set up on site. The judicial identification unit and SPVQ investigators will attempt to shed light on the circumstances of this event.
