A group of seven motorcyclists who took advantage of Sunday to ride Route 381, which connects Baie-Saint-Paul to Saguenay for nearly 150 kilometers, saw the trip end tragically.

Near Ferland-et-Boileau, one of the motorcyclists, a 41-year-old man from Lévis, in the Capitale-Nationale region, lost control of his motorcycle and hit a guardrail . The accident occurred “in a descending hill and in a curve”, specifies Stéphane Tremblay, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

The emergency services were called to the scene around 12:15 p.m. Resuscitation maneuvers were carried out on the spot, then the victim was transported to the hospital where he was declared dead.

A collision investigation patrol sent to the scene and an investigation is underway to establish the circumstances of the tragedy.
