Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean | Motorcycle collision leaves one dead and two injured

(Saint-Gédéon) A collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle left one dead and two injured on Monday evening in Saint-Gédéon, in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.


The collision occurred around 8:30 p.m. on De Quen Street near Rang des Îles.

“The vehicle traveling west would have collided with a motorcycle, which was traveling in the opposite direction and on which two people were seated,” said Ève Brochu-Joubert, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ ).

The death of one of the two occupants of the motorcycle was found at the scene.

The other person on board the motorcycle as well as the driver of the vehicle were both taken to hospital and their condition is considered critical.

Investigators and a specialist in accident scene reconstruction were dispatched to the scene to clarify the causes and circumstances surrounding this event.

According to the SQ, speed may have played a role in the collision.

De Quen Street is temporarily closed to traffic and a detour has been put in place.
