Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean | A septuagenarian loses his life in a road accident

A driver died following an accident on a road along the Saguenay River late Monday afternoon.


The septuagenarian was alone in the vehicle when he lost control on Chemin Saint-Léonard in Saint-Ambroise, municipality of Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m., indicates Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

The septuagenarian was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Traffic took place alternately on Chemin Saint-Léonard for a few hours on Monday evening to allow analysis of the scene.

An SQ patrol officer specializing in collision investigations went to the scene to better understand the circumstances of the accident.

Around 9 p.m., the Sûreté du Québec’s analyzes were completed and the road was reopened to traffic.
