Saguenay: at 140 km/h in a 50 km/h zone

A young driver lost her driver’s license after a series of traffic violations in the Saguenay sector on Sunday evening.

According to available information, she was intercepted by Saguenay police after driving at 140 km/h in a 50 km/h zone, running several red lights.

The arrest took place on boulevard du Royaume, near rue Stanley and rue des Étudiants.

According to the SAAQ website, the fine for this type of excessive speeding is $1,170.

The police investigation also showed that the motorist had fled the scene of an accident earlier in the day.

The age and origin of the driver were not specified.
