Safety Jordan Whitehead signs two-year deal with Buccaneers

(Tampa) Safety Jordan Whitehead agreed to a two-year, $9 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.

A source familiar with the matter spoke anonymously to the Associated Press about the value of the deal.

Whitehead is coming off two seasons with the New York Jets, after playing his first four seasons with the Buccaneers. They drafted him in the fourth round in 2018.

He helped Tampa Bay win the Super Bowl in February 2021.

Whitehead set a career high with four interceptions last season, including three in the Jets’ opener.
