The Secretary of State for the City, Sabrina Agresti-Roubache, is taking over the Citizenship portfolio, franceinfo learned from government sources on Tuesday October 10.

The post of Secretary of State for Citizenship had been vacant since the departure of Sonia Backès, who presented her resignation from the government to Emmanuel Macron on September 27, three days after her defeat in the senatorial elections in New Caledonia. The head of state accepted the decision of his secretary of state “in accordance with republican rule”indicated the Elysée.

Sabrina Agresti-Roubache will therefore combine files which concern city policy and those which concern citizenship.
