Six departments were affected by sabotage of fiber optic networks on Monday, July 29. These malicious acts affected both fixed and mobile customers of SFR.
The start of the Olympic Games is marked by sabotage. While the railway network has been hit by a wave of incidents, it is now the turn of the telephone network to be targeted. Thus, during the night of Sunday 28 July to Monday 29 July, several telephone operators were subjected to acts of vandalism. Free, SFR and Bouygues were targeted in several departments. Those affected are Bouches-du-Rhône, Aude, Oise, Hérault, Meuse and Drôme.
SFR specifies that it operates for Free, TDF, Bouygues and international operators. The access grids to the sites were broken and cables were cut. Access to fiber and landlines and mobile phones are affected for customers as well as for foreign operators who use the same network.
