The courts of All England Club are back in action. The 137th edition of Wimbledon opens in London on Monday, July 1st. And this first day promises to be a great one, with 64 matches scheduled. Among the matches, the debut of Jannik Sinner, the brand new world number 1, against Yannick Hanfmann and that of Carlos Alcaraz, defending champion, against Mark Lajal. In the women’s event, the number 2 seed Coco Gauff will also be treading the grass. Unlike Aryna Sabalenka (number 3) who announced her withdrawal due to injury on Monday.

On the French side, there will be eleven on the courts on this first day. This will notably be the case of Ugo Humbert (world no. 16), Arthur Cazaux and Varvara Gracheva. Two duels between Frenchmen will attract attention: Adrian Mannarino (seeded n°22) against Gaël Monfils and Alexandre Müller against Hugo Gaston. Diane Parry will be opposed to former world number one, Naomi Osaka. Drafted – just like Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard – after the withdrawal of Dominik Koepfer, Luca Van Assche will face Fabio Fognini.
