Ryan Reynolds will have his street in Ottawa

Ryan Reynolds will have the right to a new consecration in his native country, the mayor of the City of Ottawa, Jim Watson, announced Wednesday that a street in the name of the actor will soon be inaugurated in the federal capital.

“It’s clear Ottawa has a special place in Ryan’s heart – and in his honor I will be moving a motion later today to name a street after him,” Mayor Watson wrote on Twitter Wednesday. after delivering his State of the City address in the morning.

The Ryan Reynolds lane will be located in a new development in the east of the capital, it has been specified.

“It’s an incredible honor and a deal is a deal, Mr. Mayor…I changed my daughter’s name to ‘Ottawa’,” the actor quickly replied with humor.

A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Ryan Reynolds spent part of his youth in the Vanier neighborhood of Ottawa.

He has also often been involved with the City and notably donated $50,000 with his wife Blake Lively to the Ottawa Food Bank at the start of the pandemic.
